First day DLC

Game companies have begun earning a bad name for themselves with downloadable content (DLC).  What makes customers upset is that a lot of the DLC was already finished at the time of the release for the game.  Just to name one as an example, Dragon Age II.  In the same week this game was released it had DLC on the Playstation Store.  This is infuriating to gamers, considering that if it was done the same time as the game, why was it not on it?  WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 was the same way, it had Fan Axcess and Online Axcess available a week before the game came out.  People pay (give or take based on region) around $60 for every game, not counting collectors editions and extras.  I think any DLC made at launch, should be with the game at launch.  Now this is nothing but greed on the publisher's part, trying to milk an extra $5 or $10 out of there clientele.  That said, I do like the way some are doing DLC, like with Mass Effect 2, you get free access to the store if you buy your game brand new, plus a new character, and the "Normandy crash site" free.   This shows there is a difference between greed and protecting your own profit margin and more need to learn to implement this then EA, even though EA also did the Dragon Age II example.

Thanks for reading, this one was short, but good enough for now.  ^_^
